The original flag of Lacedaemeon represented DaSein Noyes and Adinava Janus, the founders of this band of merry pranksters from the ashes of the original Spartaaa which was a triumvirate of Sa Mannonen, Adinava and DaSein and included Katsumi Mikuoyen (still the fastest hitter of all time) and other combat junkies.
1. DaSein and Adinava (2 months)
In March of 2008, two young Norians who sparred regularly in the vampireland arena and became inseparable friends colluded to wrest the power of Spartaaa which has been usurped by their previous landlord and so formed a new group with themselves in charge along with their supportive teacher Sa Mannonen in its place. They named the ne family Lacedaemeon, the ancient name of Sparta. Sa Mannonen at the time was arguably the best trainer in Nor and although long gone now is forever deified in the myths of Lace.
DaSein, Adinava and Sa were joined by their friends Katsumi and Blotter Spotter and soon Amy Coakes.
The small band of killers continued to meet regularly in the vampireland arena until they were noticed by Sweety Dollinger, the then proprietor of that sim and long DaSein’s benefactor. She offered them a meeting room in the Drakula Castle which they gladly accepted. Stacey Lane and Sed, who trained with the new family all along, left the Armayas at this time and joined the growing Lace. The family continued to meet in the Drakula Castle and battle on the Drakula’s side to protect vampireland from daily invasions while jealously protecting their independent identity. The hierarchy of Lacedaemeon was always fluid and anarchic although DaSein, as ever unwilling to accept responsibility, pushed Adinava to the forefront and so she became the first of a line of goddesses sometimes referred to also as queens. As an upstart Lace was formed as an all female band and considered themselves a feminist faction. This was during the period of time after DaSein was turned into a female by Zia (who still refers to him as her daughter) and the evil Timiczi. By the end of April, 2008, the Land of Evil rose from the ocean and the growing Lace was looking for a home of their own. When they discovered the ancient ruins of Sparta after whom they have modeled their ways the bond was formed and Lacedaemeon moved to their new home. Izolde Looming and Sanford joined Lace at this time, destined to become important members of the family.
2. The Golden Age (4 months)
The family continued to flourish in the Land of Evil and soon expanded their land holdings. They continued to be tightly linked politically to the Drakula Family although they often warred against Resistance groups who were also allied to the Drakulas. They warred against anyone for the slightest reason as both DaSein and Adinava were infected with the Spartan spirit of battle. They killed and then revived their enemies as a matter of course. They fought each other as often and for even less reason. The land holdings under the supervision of Stacey Lane continued to expand like wildfire through the surrounding area. Izolde by now became one of the premier healers of nor and left Lace to seek her own destiny which led her to join a band of outlaws.
3a. The Schism
Soon a band of angels led by the notorious Draven Cortes united to cause havoc throughout the NoR Continent. Lacedaemeon were the first to fall to this band of marauders who attracted the fiercest fighters of NoR (including the expatriot, izolde looming) and reigned unchallenged for a period of time. Lace was so severely crushed repeatedly by the angels that it caused a mass of defections from this by now fairly large family. DaSsein and Adinava lived to fight and found glory only in death. They refused to surrender. Unfortunately there weren’t many who relished war even in defeat as those two and many Lace members became disgruntled demanding negotiations and even unconditional surrender. DaSein traveled around NoR trying to drum up support and raising alarm about the rise of the angels but was roundly rebuffed as his friends were few and enemies were many. The family had enough and rebelled against the leaders. Soon only DaSein and Adinava along with their faithful healer Akasha Sirnah were left of the active members to protect Laceland. The rebels united to form their own family and settled in the now divided Lands of Lace as The Swamp Suckers.
3b. The Black Period (1 month)
DaSein, defiant as ever, refused to compromise and continued his futile battles against the invincible angels even as the Swamp Sucker family made peace treaties with the tyrants. The angels, although unfriendly with the Drakulas, who were still closely linked with Lace, positioned themselves directly opposed to the demon alliances and for the first time DaSein and Adinava were cast on the same side with the demons that they have long opposed for the sake of the Drakulas and other Resistance Alliance families. DaSein was despondent and angry and unable to attract a following. Soon even Akasha left him.
4. The Reign of Izolde (6 months)
Unwilling to see his family die and convinced f his inability to build alliances, DaSein reached out to the only person who had the capacity to rebuild Lace. He reached out to the hated enemy and the mythic izolde who still bled spartan blood albeit on behalf of the hated angels. Izolde immediately accepted the queenship and so became the second Goddess of Lace as DaSein, Adinava and Blotter Spotter, who were the titular leaders, agreed to recede to advisory capacity. With a free hand to rule and magnetic charisma, Izolde quickly rebuilt Lace with new enthusiastic Spartans, created alliances with demons and cut ties with many remaining friends from the past, as Draven’s Angels, in the wake of The Drakula meltdown took lead of the Resistance forces. Sarpedon Rau, Ergoth Ethaniel and Myst Grut joined Lace. During Izolde’s 6 month reign, Lacedaemeon rose from a band of anarchists to a well organized fighting group which commanded respect from friends and enemies alike.
